Walk for Kids with AIDS
Take a fun 2-5 mile afternoon Walk/Bike/Hike with the kids to benefit the American Foundation for Children with AIDS at Chesebro Park - Agoura Hills - Los Angeles County.
Date: Sunday, May 18th, 2008 at 3:00 PM
Take the 101 north out of L.A. Exit at Chesebro-just before Kanan-Dune. Take a right off of the freeway and at the first stop sign take another right. When you drive into the Old Agoura neighborhood, you'll be on Chesebro Road (paved). Head up the tight road for about a mile then you will see on your right the entrance to the National Recreation Area. You can park outside the gates or you can drive up to the parking lot for more parking. The first paved parking area we'll call the "lower parking lot". If you drive further in you'll get to the dirt area, or "upper parking lot".
The park offers a wide variety of trails. Several trails offshoot from the main sulfur springs one. Other trails offer steep climbs or easy walking for beginners. You can also mountain bike if you like. Towards the end of sulfur springs trail there are some really cool single track obstacles if you like rocks and jumping over things. This place is really cool it has everything climbs, descents, single tracks (although not enough), and easy rolling trails for others. Thomas Guide page 558 D5.
Comfortable hike or bike for small children, younger kids, and adults.
