Description: The Gunnison Valley Climbing Experience offers the youth of Gunnison County the ability to explore rock recreation areas in the county. This season the Experience will offer eight different classes to children from the ages of 5 to 18.
The participants of these classes are given the opportunity to participate in Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up. Those who choose to be part of The Climb will acquire sponsors locally or over the internet for each pitch or hour-long bouldering session they complete. A pitch can be anywhere from 35 to 90 feet long, depending on the climbing area.
Also, over the weekend of Sept. 20 and 21 we will co-host the 4th annual Butte Boulder Bonanza in Crested Butte, CO where we will collect additional donations and where our check will be presented to AFCA. This is truly kids helping kids!
