Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up Summer Summit Challenge
Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up is kicking off this year’s event with a Summer Summit Challenge! Climbers and hikers all over the country are invited to participate in summiting the highest peak in each of the 50 states of the United States in an effort to raise awareness and funds for pediatric AIDS. June 27 – July 6, 2008 is the time frame to accomplish this feat, giving people climbing Denali time to reach the top!
Please register and be sure to write the state and mountain where you will summit in the “where you will participate” box so we can include you in the SUMMER SUMMIT CHALLENGE web page and be sure to tell us on which date you are climbing. Individuals raise a minimum of $115 and teams raise $5000 (we provide many tips for fundraising) and the highest fundraisers win cool gifts from the outdoor industry.
If you cannot participate in the Summer Summit, please consider climbing with us on Sept. 20 and/or 21 as part of Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up 2008.
Proceeds benefit children served by the American Foundation for Children with AIDS (www.helpchildrenwithaids.org). AFCA provides life saving medication for children affected by HIV/AIDS.
Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up event raised over $14,500
for Children With AIDS in 2007
Although the fight for children with AIDS is commonly thought to be an uphill battle, folks across the U.S. literally climbed to the rescue in this year's Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up event. Hikers, bikers and staircase climbers reached incredible heights to raise over $14,500 for a common goal: to save the lives of children affected by AIDS. Together, we just gave 38 children daily life-saving medicine for an entire year!
What is CUSKCGU?
Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up is a growing partnership between outdoor recreation enthusiasts and American Foundation for Children with AIDS. Together with our sponsors, we invite “climbers” everywhere to bring awareness to the pediatric AIDS pandemic and to raise funds so AFCA can continue to send life saving anti-retroviral (ARV) medication to children affected by HIV/AIDS.
Gather pledges and join us on September 20 and 21, 2008 to climb, ride, hike or walk up the mountain, hill, rock, wall, boulder or any challenge of your choice and help us in our fight to save the next generation.
